Academic Projects

During my time at Oakland University, I had the opportunity to explore and experiment with different approaches to storytelling, including written, audio, video, and web. My experiences culminated in a research-based Capstone experience focused on preserving oral histories.

Written Stories

As a writing major, I wrote a lot. I’ve selected work that highlights my ability to research, develop, and compose in innovative ways.

Audio Stories

I had limited exposure to audio storytelling prior to studying at Oakland. These stories demonstrate my skill development.

Video Stories

I had produced over a thousand educational and product videos on YouTube at one point in my professional career! But I still had a lot to learn about visual storytelling.

Web Stories

I have been developing websites since the late 1990s, and my courses at Oakland gave me the opportunity to engage with this style of storytelling in a new way.

Capstone Experience

Building on the work that I produced in my Podcasting class, my capstone experience centered on the Pontiac Oral History Collection.
