AntiracistLiteracy.org

For my final project in my Contemporary Issues in Writing and Rhetoric course, I created a multimodal composition that addressed one of the issues that we had studied during the semester.

I cross-pollinated the ideas I had learned from Kenneth Burke during my History of Rhetoric course and melded it with Dr. Asao Inoue’s theories on antiracist reading to create this website.

My work on this project inspired my professor, Dr. Felicita Arzu Carmichael, to invite me and another student in the class to develop and propose a presentation for the National Council for Teachers of English 2021 Convention. Our proposal was accepted and I was a presenter and co-panelist for Accounting for anti-racist literacy practices in and out of the college writing classroom in November 2021.

I continue to develop and maintain this website, such as adding resources, creating new materials, and regularly updating its recommended reading.
